Well written with a dash of dry humor, this book not only makes me think about the basis for my own arguments and opinions, it gives me the knowledge to wade through the plethora of news stories, memes, and impassioned statements of "fact" based on "core values" that I find rampant across news outlets and social media. Even if I disagree with what I may read or hear, I am now more able to determine if there is a legitimate point being made, or if the presenter is basing his or her conclusion on B.S. Well done!
really useful, to the point and concise book for people who love to think clearly. I particularly loved the section on sophistry. Highly recommended, including brief examples. Would have loved some exercises for students.
I was very impressed with this concise book. These are indeed the tools you need to combine with practice and experience. Get the book and argue in front of a mirror and on paper and your opponents will be in for a surprise.
