About the Author
Diann S. Gregory, B.S.N., M.S.Ed., ARNP, CNM, LCCE, has devoted more than 36 years to the nursing field as a staff nurse, patient educator, clinical specialist, author, and educator. Her career began in the Army Nurse Corps as an operating room nurse in Viet Nam, where she received a bronze star for her work in surgery and volunteer work at the local orphanage. Gregory recently retired after 21 years as a full-time educator, including 12 years at Miami Dade College, where her peers awarded her the college's highest honor for professors, the three-year Endowed Teaching Chair. She has also won or been a finalist for several national awards for teaching, service, and learning resource development, including recognition by the National League for Nursing for an innovative video teaching program she created. Gregory's interactive virtual practice programs are frequently presented at national conferences to demonstrate best practices, and she has developed interactive case studies used by universities throughout Canada.

I am a nursing student, and this was assigned as one of the companion books for maternal-child health. I really enjoyed it. We didn't discuss the cases in our class, but it was a great reinforcer for self learning. I appreciated how they gave detailed answers to the ten or so questions following each scenario. It flowed, the length of each scenario was achievable as a homework assignment, and it felt like efficient, worthwhile learning.
I had this author as an instructor and MOST of the material in her class, tests and finals came from this book. It didnt help, that I didnt read it until after the class was over. I could have made a much better grade.
